A 60-year-old woman who was killed and a child injured in a two vehicle crash at an intersection in Flagler County west of Bunnell, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Rita Willis was driving a 2005 Ford with 4-year-old Chloe Castro in the back seat when she attempted to turn left from Canal Street, where she was traveling eastbound, onto County Road 305, FHPreported.
Her vehicle was struck at the intersection by a 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Jed Robertson, 26, FHP reported. Robertson was on Country Road 305 heading south.
The crash threw Willis, who was not wearing a seat belt, into the back seat on top of Chloe, authorities said.
Willis, of Satsuma, died and Chloe was listed in critical condition at Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach. Authorities say Chloe was wearing her seat belt.
Robertson, of Bunnell, had minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, FHP said.
